Focusing on a 3659-subject cohort from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey III of men over 55 and women over 65, they found that, after 10 years of initial data collection, those who’d been doing exercises to maintain muscle mass and muscle strength – and power (the ability to push your body weight or another weight rapidly) – increased longevity.
