Fit Happens – Fall 2020

Fall 2020 Fear: Covid or Inactivity? Both can Kill To say, “What a year!”, would be an understatement many others have already said. Not much I can add to that. From the standpoint of exercise and fitness, though, it’s a year like no other in human history. I say this for 3 reasons. First, dueRead More

The Vitamin D Complex(ity)

Wouldn’t it be nice if a simple, inexpensive vitamin supplement could solve so many health-related issues? So begins the question at the heart of a review featured in this article: http://www.healthcanal.com/nutrition/73501-vitamin-d-may-not-be-the-great-solution-to-health-problems.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+healthnewshc%2FOxfp+%28Health+News+from+HealthCanal.com%29 As I’ve written in so many blogs and Facebook posts, vitamin D is either great or relatively inconsequential…and yet some fitness and nutrition expertsRead More

Vitamin D….Again?

It seems that science is a very inexact…science. not too long ago, I posted some of the latest info, from newspaper review, of vitamin D requirements based on a large body of studies reviewed by experts. seems the numbers just keep getting more confusing – not too much, just this amount, no more than thatRead More

On Vitamin D: Changing Standards?

The other day, I got my tufts nutrition newsletter. There was a small piece in there about the need to take more vitamin D and how many are getting this message. The same day, the NY times and wall street journal reported on an institute of medicine committee that reviewed hundreds of articles and cameRead More

I am so grateful to have found STEPS. I sustained an ankle fracture and felt there was nowhere to go with one weight bearing leg. I was accustomed to fitness being part of my daily life. Darryl has given me back my endorphins and improved my spirits. His experience training athletes has been so helpful. He is creative and patient. Meeting Irv and learning about his expertise, dedication to his clients, and his gym made me feel safe and understood. The space is large and the equipment is full. This is also the cleanest gym I have seen. I most highly recommend STEPS.

This was my very first experience with a private gym and personal trainer. The owner and trainer made me feel very comfortable and at home. The gym is very clean and well equipped. I felt the price was VERY well worth the time attention I received. I will return once my work schedule becomes more predictable.
